vScaler, a cloud infrastructure and service provider built on top of OpenStack, announced its official partnership with Datera, a provider of elastic block storage for on-premises clouds, at the 2017 OpenStack Summit Boston.

This new partnership between vScaler and Datera will deliver scalable private clouds for a wide variety of workloads, from high-performance databases to archival storage.

Datera’s adaptive data infrastructure is a natural complement to vScaler’s application-specific cloud platform, which integrates compute, storage and networking resources into a converged platform capable of running any application, at any scale.

Datera Elastic Data Fabric (EDF) is architected from the ground up to be operated as-a-service and enables unmatched simplicity, scalability and total cost of ownership, all at enterprise-class performance.

By integrating Datera EDF software as a back-end storage device for block storage, vScaler can provide multiple storage tiers using all-flash nodes and hybrid flash nodes for a wide range of applications allowing optimal levels of performance.

David Power, CTO, vScaler, comments: “This partnership broadens our cloud offering as we can now incorporate applications that are IOPs intensive and future proof vScaler for support around containerized technologies. This significantly enhances vScaler’s cloud platform, and expands the market opportunity into large enterprises, service provider clouds and emerging containerized deployments. ”

“Enterprises need IT solutions that are radically simpler to operate, easily adapted to changing requirements, and that deliver transformational economics. These are not always easy to find,” said Flavio Santoni, chief revenue officer at Datera.

“Our partnership with vScaler addresses these common concerns by bringing our scalable Elastic Data Fabric to customers and partners looking to simplify their IT operations. We look forward to integrating our technology with vScaler’s cloud infrastructure to help customers achieve digital transformation while reducing complexities in their data centers.”
