Neurala announced that it will provide its Brain Builder platform to developer education programs and academic institutions in both the US and China, including the Chinese Software Developer Network (CSDN) and Boston University, in an effort to support AI education and address the AI skills gap.

Brain Builder is a SaaS platform that helps make AI more accessible for developers and organizations, by providing an easy-to-use platform to manage and annotate training data and build AI applications out of this data.

“We’re excited to be working with leading developer education programs in the U.S. and abroad to contribute to AI learning and development,” said Dr. Massimiliano Versace, co-founder and CEO of Neurala.

“The AI skills gap is very real – by some estimates, there are only about 300,000 AI engineers worldwide, and only 22,000 AI PhDs worldwide, but millions are needed. By providing Neurala’s Brain Builder platform to educators around the world, we’re giving developers the tools to accelerate their readiness to enter into the AI workforce with modern tools and build impactful, enterprise-level AI systems.”

Already, Neurala has partnered with CSDN on a curriculum to help aspiring AI programmers enhance their skillsets. By using Brain Builder as part of this coursework, developers can gain the skills they need to become proficient in building AI in real-world scenarios, learning to prepare datasets and build AI applications more efficiently, with quality and consistency.

“Brain Builder is a valuable tool to support AI education today, and has significant potential to address challenges in the market as a whole,” said Jiang Tao, chairman of CSDN. “The new labeling method that Neurala’s team has developed in Brain Builder can greatly improve the efficiency of AI development, saving developers – and by extension, enterprises – time and money. We’re proud to work with Neurala on the new AI curriculum, to help bring its powerful tool to more developers and organizations.”

Neurala is also working with professors at Boston University to incorporate Brain Builder into select courses.
