Mastercard, Andhra Pradesh Electronics IT Agency to Digitally Transform State as a “Fintech Valley”

Further strengthening its work with the Indian government to drive continued innovation, Mastercard today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Andhra Pradesh Electronics IT Agency (APEITA), Government of Andhra Pradesh. Spread across a span of two years, this strategic collaboration will enable safe and secure digital solutions adoption at the state level.


This “Fintech Valley” MoU was signed by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, and Ajay Banga, President & CEO, Mastercard in New Delhi.


Also present at the signing ceremony were Nara Lokesh, Minister for Information Technology, Panchayathi Raj and Rural Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh, J.A. Chowdary, Special Chief Secretary & IT Advisor to Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh - Government of Andhra Pradesh, Vijayanand, PR Secretary IT&C, Sai Prasad, PR Secretary to Chief Minister, Krishna Kishore, CEO, EDB, and Ms. Latha Ayyar, Special representative of Government of Andhra Pradesh for Fintech.


Under the agreement, Mastercard will apply its insights and experience in working with governments across the globe to help deliver greater opportunities for local citizens and businesses. The company will implement innovative payment technologies, reinforcing CM’s high impact agenda to make Andhra Pradesh a cashless society and to elevate its foothold as a Smart City.
