The next time you plan to sip a cup of coffee at your favourite Coffee outlet, don’t forget to carry your set of redundant laptops, phone chargers, cables, wires, CDs etc. with you. EcoCentric Management Pvt. Ltd, a leading E-Waste management company in India in association with a leading cafe chain, kick starts its month long campaign- #IAMEcoCentric, an E-Waste collection drive across the city. Starting from today, you can contribute to environmental wellbeing by depositing E-Waste in the bins placed by EcoCentric at a leading coffee shop chain in outlets spread across Mumbai.

Electronic waste, abbreviated as ‘e-waste’ is a term used to describe old, end-of-life electronic appliances such as computers, laptops, TV’s, radios, refrigerators etc., which have been discarded or disused by users. E-waste is a cocktail of toxins like mercury, lead, cadmium, arsenic, beryllium and brominated flame retardants that are hazardous to human health and the environment if not recycled using state-of-the-art technology.

Here’s our chance to get rid of the heap of unusable electronics while also participating in an environmental cause by simply disposing E-Waste in these bins. EcoCentric Management would subject your contributions (E-Waste) to their systematic disposal, thereby leading to reduce, reuse and recycle waste material. Further, participants stand a chance to win a Kindle and also free Coffee Vouchers by clicking a Selfie with the Bin and posting it on Twitter with #IAMEcoCentric.

E-waste is an important global environmental and health issue. EcoCentric was founded in 2011 to bridge the underlying gap in E-Waste management professionally. With this drive EcoCentric intends to evoke among the youth- students and professionals, a sense of responsibility and spread awareness about the need for E-Waste management. Karan Thakkar, Founder of EcoCentric said, “We at EcoCentric are now geared up to empanel every citizen who is sensitive and responsible towards ecological enhancement. With this association with Cafe Coffee Day, we wish to trigger the youth’s participation in the environmental cause. We are here to bring the Waste Revolution in the country”.

Protection of environment is everyone’s duty and every effort matters while creating a change. EcoCentric and Cafe Coffee Day invite every responsible Mumbaikar to be a part of this drive and contribute towards the success of the cause!
