Cybersecurity Considerations for GDPR

Organizations should employ a basic set of cybersecurity considerations to defend themselves

The GDPR is a new legislation that will require breaches of personal data to be reported within a specific amount of time; failure to meet these requirements will result in hefty fines.

Cybersecurity company eSentire’s founder and chief security strategist, Eldon Sprickerhoff, says: “The GDPR creates additional security and privacy obligations for organizations to comply with. All organizations, including those outside of the EU that hold data on European citizens, need to review their obligations under GDPR.

"Regardless of industry, scope, or scale, all organizations need to be prepared for these changes and the impact it could have on their business, and should employ a basic set of cybersecurity considerations to defend against today’s growing cyber risk."
