Biometric-based Authentication to Become More Prevalent in UK to Combat Cybercrime

New research has revealed the rise of the use of biometric technology to fight cybercrime. According to the survey, conducted by Callcredit Information Group, 53 percent of organisations expect to significantly increase their investment in biometric technologies.
Commenting on this, Ryan Wilk, VP at passive biometrics and behavioural analytics company, NuData Security, said: “Biometrics adds another layer that improves security and customer trust, and should be part of a multi-layered approach that includes behavioural analytics and passive biometrics. Passive Biometrics analyses user behaviours passively, reducing customer friction and adding a deep level of trust that it is the correct human authenticating into a secured environment.
"While voice, fingerprint, or iris scans can be valuable in identifying the user's physical biometrics, having a full multi-layered solution to identify the user in both a passive and active state creates a nearly un-spoofable way to authenticate a valued customer.”
