Deutsche Telekom AG, GSMA, Orange, and LoRa Alliance have been announced to join the speaking agenda at next week’s LPWA World.

Taking place at the InterContinental O2 in London, UK, from 23–24 May 2017, the event will place a spotlight on the future of Internet of Things (IoT) networks and cover the latest standards developments and deployment updates.

LPWA World will kick-start with presentations from the LoRa Alliance and updates on LTE-M and NB-IoT deployments, including a spotlight on Deutsche Telekom’s latest developments in Germany and beyond.

“I believe that NB-IoT is exactly the technology our customers have been waiting for,” said Jens Olejak, senior Project Manager, M2M Unit, Deutsche Telekom AG, speaking ahead of the event. “It fulfils the key requirements of a wide range of IoT applications, making them economically feasible, secure and long-term sustainable.”

LPWA World has also recently announced Paul Putland, Innovation Consultant at BT Group, to the agenda, who will talk about the transformative effect LPWA can have on cities like London following the roll out of such networks.

“The City of London, which is full of large scale buildings and an abundant population, has a crucial requirement for high quality networks,” said David Sackheim, Marketing manager at Avren Events. “However, this year’s agenda is unique in that we are not just focusing on the UK. We will instead place a spotlight on all continents in order to share ideas and collaborate on the technology and deployment choices being made, not just in London, but across the entire world.”

From the mobile perspective, Orange’s Ronan Le Bras will explore the combined licensed and unlicensed approach to LPWA through LoRa and LTE-M. Similarly, a panel on day two will discuss the co-existence of public and private networks with Lattelecom and MultiTech.

The show will also include topical discussions on the applications of LPWA, including presentations from José Ignacio Guerra Gómez at Telefónica Chile, who will explore the role of LPWAN for industrial IoT in Chile.

Vincent Hebbelynck at Proximus and Daniel Bachmann at IoT Denmark will also look at opening up LPWA to developers, and ways in which a variety of applications can be supported through such networks. Complimenting these presentations will be a series of debates on business models and revenue generation, including participation from Tele2 IoT, WND, Arqiva and the GSMA.

LPWA World will be co-located with SCWS World.
